Salary and Hours

  • £212 per day
  • 2-3 days per week

Role and conditions

  • Delivering individual and group Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT)® sessions for people with neurological illnesses, acquired brain and spinal cord injuries, within a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care setting
  • Managing and prioritising referrals
  • Working jointly with Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Physiotherapists and other members of the multidisciplinary team
  • Working flexibly with the service to meet their needs

What Chiltern Music Therapy is looking for

Essential requirements:

  • HCPC registration and enhanced DBS check
  • Additional training in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT)®
  • Confident and self-motivated individual
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • A high level of vocal skills and keyboard and/or guitar skills, and confidence in using percussion instruments
  • Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • A full driving licence with access to a vehicle or use of public transport is required

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working within neurorehabilitation as an NMT
  • Certified Neurologic Music Therapy Fellow
  • Certified training in MATADOC (Music Therapy Assessment Tool for Awareness in Disorders of Consciousness)*

*handover period will be adapted accordingly in lieu of the above
