Chiltern Music Therapy were proud to delivery a very successful Neurologic Music Therapy^TM service to patients in the neurorehab ward at the Royal Bucks for 1.5 days per week from 2021 - 2023.

Over the 2 year period, 69 unique patients were seen for 1:1/small group support.

In regards to diagnosis, the breakdown of patients was: 

• 52% Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
• 23% Stroke
• 6% Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
• 19% Other (neuro)

The primary reason for referral was for support with motor goals. Other reasons included support with communication, cognitive, psychosocial and wellbeing goals.

A fantastic 82% of clients achieved their goals during treatment.

Following NMT, patients' mood score improved 92% of the time.
